Nebuchadnezzar II

Nebuchadnezzar II was the powerful king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire who conquered Jerusalem, destroyed the First Temple, and carried many of the people of Judah into Babylonian exile. Prominent in the Book of Daniel, he encountered the God of Israel through prophetic dreams, Daniel’s interpretations, and the miraculous deliverance of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the fiery furnace. His experiences with pride, judgment, and restoration ultimately led him to acknowledge the sovereignty of the Most High God. Nebuchadnezzar’s story demonstrates the rise and fall of earthly power before divine authority.
